Prevent problems and ensure that maggots do not develop into flies. Maggots and flies can cause nuisance and problems for your livestock. Maggots can sometimes nest on the soiled hindquarters of a calf or sheep. To feed themselves, they begin to eat into the animal and sometimes even under the skin. This creates the risk that your animal develops Myiasis (cutaneous myiasis / blowfly strike). Maggots grow back into flies that can spread other diseases. To prevent this, it is necessary to combat these pests. A powerful product that can be used to control maggots is Neporex. This product prevents the production of Chitin. A maggot needs chitin in order to moult, which it normally does 3 times. Neporex disrupts this moulting process and ensures that the larva (maggot) is killed. Because a larva moults 3 times before becoming an adult fly, you also have 3 chances to combat the maggots! This makes Neporex a highly effective product.

Use: Neporex can be used with various types of livestock, including: chickens, turkeys, broilers, rabbits, pigs, dairy cattle, calves and beef cattle. This product can be applied in 3 different ways. You can scatter it in the (straw) pen, pour it or spray it onto fly breeding sites. Places where flies prefer to be are locations with sufficient moisture, food and warmth. These include areas such as manure, wet spots under a water trough and areas with waste.

Dosages

The dosage per application method is shown below:

Scattering: 500 grams per 20 m²
Pouring: 500 grams per 20 litres of water per 20 m²
Spraying: 500 grams per 2 to 8 litres of water per 20 m²
Repeat these dosages every 6 to 8 weeks, or after you have cleaned out a pen or individual box.

Neporex is an effective product against maggots. For even more effective control, we recommend using Neporex in combination with insecticides targeting adult flies.
